Bamboo is the most useful plant to humankind on planet Earth. In the United States its invasive nature makes it the subject of much heartache, contempt, and hatred. We do not have the culture for it here. Bamboo’s over-eager ability to grow and spread is both its greatest curse and its greatest blessing. In a world dependent on limited resources, nothing could be more of a boon to the future our children should inherit than a truly unlimited resource. Not only is bamboo realistically endlessly renewable, it also happens to be beautiful and controllable, especially when managed responsibly and properly. Bamboo easily lends itself to almost any use with just a few simple hand tools, some imagination and a little bit of skill.
